Affinity quests are multi-prompt Adventures your character goes on that allow you to earn exclusive elemental features and abilities for your character. You can only complete these with a character you own, and the affinity will be applied to the character that completes it.
(If you wanted the same affinity for multiple characters, you would have to complete it again for each one of them)
When you add traits to your character, you can usually add the affinity to display on their body, but you can't make part of their body BECOME the element, and need to have reached the Affinity Mage tier in mage quests for that. For example, with crystal affinity you could have crystals growing on your pouf's horns, but their horns couldn't be MADE of crystal until they had Affinity Mage also.

They could follow the feeling and arrive at a wind temple, Ruins, or A cave with a mysterious breeze drifting out. What do they find there? Perhaps A deity who grants them powers if they complete a task, or maybe it's an enchanted berry just out of reach they could eat to get powers? FlamecallerThis questline allows you to gain the Flamecaller badge, as well as exclusive Fire affinity powers & features for the character you completed the prompts with.

TidepoolerThis questline allows you to gain the Tidepooler badge, as well as exclusive Water affinity & features for the character you completed the prompts with.

Coral and underwater plants can grow on parts of your character. Pick any Capri traits for your character. Prompt Your character travels to the oceanside, and once they're there, they feel a peculiar force beckoning them to the sea. Somehow, they find a way to traverse deep down in the ocean and find a temple submerged, or meet a great sea diety. There, they lay claim on a fantastic treasure that gives them the power to breathe underwater, and to manipulate and control water around them. What was calling them? What gave them the treasure? Were they in danger at any point? How did they return, and what do they use their powers for now?
